Roll Your R Like A Spaniard

Rmss over at Spanish Only has made a great post about how to roll your R. He gives you step-by-step instructions on how to go from zero to perfectly rolled Rs.

I tried it out yesterday during an hour-long jog and I was able to get up to step 2! It was quite exciting to get my tongue to do that. And so quickly! I’ve tried to learn how to do a rolling R in the past, but I never got close. Yesterday my tongue was rolling after very little practice. This method really works!

If you are studying Spanish, or if you just always thought it would be cool to roll your Rs, check out the original article!

  1. Glad that it works! Being able to roll my R was so important in my learning progress, because not being able to make one just made me feel depressed.

Let me know if you can also put your rolled R in words in the future.

  3. Well, that only works of the tongue is loose and you can make individual r’s. The problem of most people is that their tongue isn’t loosen up yet, their tip (of the tongue) isn’t strong enough to trill. That’s why the ‘tee dee va’ is so good, it makes your tongue stronger.
